No account or advertising
You do not need an account. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDK and does not operate a developer backend to collect your app activity.
Information stored on your device
Clock preferences, face finishes, selected time zones, timers, alarms, stopwatch laps and your chosen daylight location are saved locally. The app shares settings and daylight-location data with its widget extension through an on-device App Group. System alarm scheduling is handled by Apple’s operating system. Device backups may retain app data according to your Apple settings.
Moon and daylight
Moon illumination and sunrise/sunset estimates are calculated on the device. These calculations do not contact WeatherKit or a developer server. Choosing one of the bundled cities requires no location permission or network request.
Optional location lookup
Only when you choose Use my location does the app request your location. Apple location services and reverse geocoding are used to resolve the place and time zone. The location supplied to this lookup may be precise depending on your system permission. Coordinates saved afterward are rounded to two decimal places in latitude and longitude (roughly kilometer-scale, varying by latitude). The selected place stays saved until you change it. There is no background location tracking. You can deny or revoke permission and choose a city instead.
Compass and alarms
Compass heading is processed on the device while the foreground compass is in use. Timer and alarm permissions let the system present scheduled alerts; declining them prevents scheduling, without requiring location permission. Manage access in system Settings.
Support and retention
Support email is handled using Apple iCloud Mail. When you contact us, we receive your email address, message content, attachments and any troubleshooting information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond to your request and investigate the issue. We do not use support messages for advertising.
Our standard retention period for closed support conversations is 12 months after the request is resolved. We review them monthly and delete conversations that have reached that period. We may retain relevant information longer where reasonably necessary for an ongoing issue, security investigation, legal obligation or the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims. You can request earlier deletion by emailing support@siliconhorology.com. This applies to support copies under our control, including sent replies. Deleted mail may remain temporarily in the provider’s recovery or backup systems under its own retention practices. Copies in your own mailbox are under your control. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a deletion request, and applicable legal requirements or exceptions may affect what we can delete.
This website
These support and privacy pages have no advertising, analytics scripts or contact forms. Opening a page sends ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and browser request, to the hosting service so it can deliver and secure the page. The pages are hosted through OpenAI Sites with Cloudflare delivery and security services. Cloudflare may set a security cookie and run browser checks to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic. These are separate from advertising or app analytics and from information stored in the app. Following an email link opens your email application; nothing is sent until you send the message.
Your controls
Change the selected city and app preferences in the app. Revoke location or alarm permission in Settings. Delete individual timers, alarms and stopwatch sessions using their controls. Removing the app removes its local app container subject to the operating system’s backup and shared-container behavior; retained device backups follow your Apple settings.
